Better daily living for loved ones. Peace of mind for you. Senior Helpers® in-home care services are designed so our clients get as much or as little help as they require to enjoy living independently at home. Our service schedules are flexible and we are non-contractual, so you don't have to commit to a fixed length of time. After a thorough screening, we train, bond, insure, and hire only the most professional and compassionate companions and personal caregivers. If you’re considering assisted living services or other long-term elderly care options, talk to us first.
We assist our clients with everything from companionship to bathing* to specialized Alzheimer's and dementia care. We employ a proven process that includes an in-home assessment to help determine the type and level of care needed. Our services are available anytime - during the day, night, weekends, and holidays, or for short or long term duration.
Companion / Sitter / Couples Care
Our companions provide services such as companionship, meal planning and preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, medication reminders and other general assistance. Companion care can be provided for a minimum of 4 hours, 1 day per week up to 24 x 7.
- Sitter Services: Companions sit with and monitor a client during their hospital or facility stay. The caregiver can then follow the client home to provide a smooth transition.
- Couples Services: Companions provide assistance to couples at a significantly reduced rate if both persons are in need of assistance.
Personal Care
Our advanced level of care: our Certified Home Health Aides provide basic companion care plus assistance with the Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation assistance. These services are initially assessed and regularly monitored by our staff Registered Nurse.
Live-In or Over Night care
Our personal caregivers are available to provide 24 hour coverage, provided they can sleep uninterrupted for a minimum of 5 hours per night and get appropriate breaks. Live-In care can be provided for a minimum of 2 consecutive days up to 7-days per week indefinitely.
Transition Services
Making the decision to leave your home for an assisted living facility can be difficult—even if you’re looking forward to the extra help, security, and social perks that it brings. Senior Helpers’ trained, licensed and bonded caregivers can provide a full array of services to help you or your loved one manage the uncertainty and stress of this major transition. By working with you, your loved one and the facility we will coordinate and manage the before, during and after-the-move needs ranging from organizing, sorting, packing and labeling, to transportation and companionship during this emotional time.
Wait list Management Support
Quality facilities are often full and there can be a one week to three month wait for an available room. Senior Helpers can support your or your loved ones needs while waiting for your residency to begin. We can work with the facility on an extended transition program which enables you to take advantage of activities, limited meals and other resident activities as well as ensuring all is safe and secure at home.
Going Home Safe Services
Senior Helpers Boston North are highly experienced in developing and supporting safe transitions home from skilled care – hospitals or Skilled Rehabilitation Care. Working within the guidelines of the 2009 PREPARE Checklist, we ensure all aspects of transition are managed to help reduce the chance of readmission. Our care support to prepare the home, critical aspects of coordinating the immediate care and follow-up, nutrition support and other in-home services will enable you or your loved one to make the transition safely and orderly.
Wellness Watch
Wellness Watch is an opportunity for seniors and their families to be introduced to having Senior Helpers come into the home for their family’s peace of mind. We provide qualified staff to check in on seniors to find out how they are doing and report back to their family. Wellness Watch is the first step to regular weekly home care services if families or the senior are resistant to, or unsure about, having this type of care.
Medication Reconciliation and Management Services
Our Registered Nurse will prepare medication logs and reconcile the home medication set-up for ease of use by our client, family caregivers or our caregivers. Tracking log is prepared and multi-day dosage packs can also be prepared. Additional services may be available. Please contact us with specific questions. All medication services are limited by state licensing and Senior Helpers acts in strict accordance to these guidelines and regulations.
Peace of Mind Visit
Our unique Peace of Mind Visit program is a 1-hour visit per day to help clients with, among other things, bathing assistance, meal preparation, medication reminders, getting out of or into bed, and “check-ins.” The Peace of Mind Visit can be provided from a minimum of 5 days per week up to 7 days per week.
